Caesia opened her eyes nervously, knowing she had done something, yet not sure what. She was met with a world forged of shimmering green light, a mirror of reality in every way.

“What is this?” she whispered, running her fingers cautiously along the walls of the tunnel.

Her fingers glided through the light as if it were liquid, leaving behind them a rippling trail. She span around and jumped at the sight of a pair of shimmering green shapes behind her. It was Eris and Maeve, only they appeared as featureless forms of pure light.

“Eris!” Caesia yelled, to no answer.

Eris couldn’t see her, implying that this tunnel and by extension her powers transcended the physical plane. It was as terrifying as it was fascinating. She looked down at herself, curious as to why she did not appear like them.

To some degree she was scared, but her intrigue dwarfed all emotion. Whatever this place was, it wasn’t common knowledge to the rest of the world - it was a revolutionary arcane discovery. Her mind flooded with possibilities, an endless wellspring of ideas and theories clouding any fear that might have gripped her.

“Hm… my arrival in this place seems to suggest that my abilities transcend the physical plane…” Caesia mumbled, scrambling for her notebook as she launched into her usual lunatic rambling. “All evidence points to this being a mirror of our world, perhaps suggesting that green essence makes up the fabric of reality, possibly meaning that I am capable of manipulating said fabric! Makes sense, maybe explains where I’ve been going wrong!”

A gleeful smile spread across her face as she thrust open her notebook and began making erratic amendments to her work.

“Yes, of course! I’ve been focusing on the idea of moving myself physically, where I should have been looking beyond reality!” she gushed, before pausing momentarily in realisation. “If my essence is that of the fabric of reality, perhaps I can do more than just move in and out of this plane… is it possible that I could shape reality at a whim? Thoughts for later, far too advanced to be considering now.”

She moved gradually to the end of the tunnel as she scrawled pages of notes into her book. She had never been so excited, this was what she had waited for all her life! She reached out to open the grate and as she placed her hand on a bar, it exploded slowly into a cloud of green sparks. Caesia reeled back from the grate and narrowed her eyes in analysis. The bar was gone. She looked down at her hands and began hesitantly to giggle. She swept her hands through the grate and watched bright eyed as the bars dispersed into the air.

“Hypothesis confirmed,” she grinned. She wondered if that had affected reality in any way.

She stepped out onto the seafront, surveying the shimmering green ocean. As her eyes met with the horizon, she gazed up to the sky in awe. It was an endless void painted with dancing colours - red, blue, yellow and purple.
